HLAA Mission
-The mission of the Hearing
Loss Association of America is to open the world of communication to people with
hearing loss by providing information, education, advocacy, and support.
HLAA History—Rocky
Stone started SHHH in 1979. The name, Self Help for Hard of Hearing People,
highlighted his desire that SHHH could help us help ourselves.
Hearing Loss Association of America, which more accurately reflects our commitment to assist anyone
with a hearing loss.
