 HLAA Mission -The mission of the Hearing Loss Association of America is to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, advocacy, and support.

HLAA HistoryRocky Stone started SHHH in 1979. The name, Self Help for Hard of Hearing People, highlighted his desire that SHHH could help us help ourselves.  In 2006 the name was changed to

Hearing Loss Association of America, which more accurately reflects our commitment to assist anyone

with a hearing loss.
